The Millernease Griffin Scholarship Foundation
The Millernease Griffin Scholarship Foundation was established in 2020 as a promise to benefit the students of the greater Atlanta area and surrounding counties. Created in partnership with Reidway Trucking, LLC, it’s mission is to support teens throughout their scholastic journey to the unconquerable heights as they pursue higher education. The foundation’s top priority was established in the memorial of the late Millernease Griffin; The grandmother of principal planner Tyler Reid and his older brother Tyree Reid of Reidway Trucking, LLC. Our first recipient – awarded $1,000 helped a young scholar attend a 4-year University during the 2020 pandemic, each and every year we plan to invest in another deserving young scholar for years to come.
In 1933, Millernease Griffin was born in the city of Newnan, GA and became a woman of power, respect, and faith through the years she lived on this earth. She lived on the premise of trusting God’s Holy word and living by the golden rule which states “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. She touched the lives of family, friends, and colleagues as it was easily shown by her admiration in her hometown. Becoming a grandmother to Tyler and Tyree was one of her greatest accomplishments in life.
This foundation was dedicated to the memory of Millernease as she was headstrong on education and the pursuit of success. She always pushed her grandchildren to be all they can be and never let anyone tell you what you can or cannot do in life. The MGSF is an opportunity that highlights those students who admire the art of education and are committed to investing in their future. This award is applied directly to the recipient’s college tuition and is not intended for use of free spending.
